When alignment is done well, employees feel more engaged and motivated as they can imagine easily how their works contribute to the company's missions and goals. It also shows that everyone is heading towards the same direction.
When should I align?
Your goals should only align to other's goals if the answer is yes for: 'Does my progress impact their outcome?'
How Does Alignment Work?
Below are 2 ways to create alignments:
A manager creates an objective with a set of key results, then reassigns some of the key results to a direct report
Employee creates an objective and selects his/her manager’s objective to contribute to
Employee views manager’s objective and adds a key result on the the manager’s objective detail page
How to create alignment in Anama
When editing or creating an objective, select alignment from the right panel of the objective
Then select an objective to align to
Once choosing an objective to align to, you can toggle the option to indicate whether your progress will have an impact on the parent objective. You should have a discussion with the owner of the parent objective before toggling this on.
